Stam Source

Terms of Service

Last updated: [date]

1. Who we are

Stam Source ("we," "us," "the platform") is an online marketplace that connects independent sofrim (vendors) with customers seeking handwritten STaM items. For most listings, the vendor -- not Stam Source -- is the seller of record: they set their own prices, write their own descriptions, and are responsible for the accuracy, quality, and fulfillment of what they sell. We provide the platform, payment processing, and marketplace rules that vendors and customers agree to follow.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old, or have a parent/guardian's permission, to make a purchase.

3. Becoming a vendor (sofer)

Vendor applications are reviewed before approval, and we may reject or later suspend a vendor account at our discretion -- including for misrepresenting credentials, poor fulfillment, or violating these terms. Approved vendors agree to: list only items they are able to fulfill, accurately describe each item (including script type, materials, and any certifications), keep inventory counts current, ship promptly and provide tracking information, and honor the commission rate disclosed in their vendor dashboard.

4. Orders, pricing, and payment

Prices are set by vendors and displayed in the listed currency. Payment is processed securely by Stripe; we do not store your full card details. Placing an order is an offer to purchase, which is accepted when payment is confirmed. A single order may include items from multiple vendors -- you'll receive one combined receipt, but each vendor fulfills and ships their own items independently.

5. Halachic and religious accuracy

Vendors represent their own qualifications, certifications, and the halachic status of their products. A "Verified Sofer" badge reflects that we reviewed the credentials a vendor provided to us -- it is not an independent halachic certification. If religious accuracy is important for your use, we encourage you to confirm certification details directly with the vendor or consult your own rabbinic authority before relying on an item for ritual use.

6. Cancellations, returns, and refunds

See our Shop Policies page for return and refund terms. Refunds are issued to your original payment method once approved.

7. Prohibited conduct

You may not use the platform to list or purchase counterfeit or misrepresented items, evade fees or commissions by arranging off-platform payment for a listing found here, harass other users, or attempt to interfere with the security or normal operation of the site.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The platform is provided "as is." Because vendors are independent sellers, we are not liable for the quality, safety, legality, or halachic status of vendor listings, except where required by law. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to the platform is limited to the amount you paid for the order giving rise to the claim.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after a change means you accept the updated terms.
